September 5, 2014: Economy of Latin America will grow below 2% in 2014

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will lower its growth prospects for Latin America in 2014 to less than 2%, said the director of the Western Hemisphere of the institution during his participation in the Annual Conference of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), that concluded Thursday in Washington, adding that this rebate is due to the slowdown that is being seen in countries like Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela mainly.

IMF lowers growth forecast for Latin America

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), revised down the Outlook for the economy of Latin America and the Caribbean and estimated that the gross domestic product of the region will grow 2 in 2014 and 2.6 in 2015, representing cuts of 0.5 and 0.3 respectively in connection with the April estimates.
