July 14, 2014: Maersk Forms New Alliance with MSC after Chinese Setback

The world’s two largest commercial shipping lines have reached a long-term deal called 2M, on regular routes between Europe, Asia and the US east and west coasts, to cut costs by sharing capacity, following the collapse last month of the companies’ plans (together with CMA-CGM) for an alliance of the top three global freight lines.
