During this Conference, organized by Industry Exchange with the support of Latinports, it was discuss on the new environment that the enlargement of the Panama Canal presents for thr port industry of America Latin and the Caribbean, on the need of improve the productivity and efficiency of them ports of the region, the challenges of governance of ports and their areas of influence, the need to transform the port terminals in logistics nodes, the opportunities that present themselves as centers for the development of manufacturing areas under export processing zones or special zones, the pending tasks in the field of multimodal integration. Also it was dedicate a space to the specialized ports in energy and to the logistics energy in the frame of the growing import of fuels from Latin America and the new routes that the channel expanded has open for the market of LNG.
